    Hello,

I liked better humans' news but now I can't see them (just the old ones in the archives).

Aren't there going to be any more news? If there are where are they?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I still don't get it. Are there news in the new betterhumans?

This is what interested me from this site. Without the news section the thrill is gone.

    Thanks.

    Educobian,

The short answer is that the news section as you knew it is gone. The long answer is that something different and hopefully better will grow in its place. As a community site, Betterhumans will need the support of members to bring important developments to the attention of other members. Please help by flagging items of interest in your blog. There will also be other opportunities for you to read and contribute to news as we move forward.

    Thanks,
    Simon

Was any thought given to the option of at least having a member-contributed headline page so that us who rarely actually login can have some reason to even come to the site? Without the headlines, I will probably end up by checking out the science and nutrition sections of news Web sites, and reading articles from related publications. The only value this site had to me was the news.
Was there a study or survey performed on the users of the site that suggested this was a good idea? I never got a survey.
In any case, a member-contributed headline page may be immensely better than what existed before. And now, I do not feel like sifting through blogs to find information I want. A member-contribued headline page could be great. A moderator could even do the work of sifting through the blogs and pulling the headlines, etc..
    What do u think?

Yes, I agree.  I visited this site almost everyday to get the news.  Now, must find somewhere else.

I have to absolutely agree with the sentiment of please don't remove the news.  I am a frequent visitor to Betterhumans.  I didn't have a membership.  But, I signed up for a membership today just so I could reply to this line of comments.  I suspect that like myself, many people visit this site for cutting edge science and nutrition information.  It has often been my experience that Betterhumans had news threads a week or two before many major news carriers would post them.  Maybe I have nothing to fear and the new format will be even better.  I suspect that the new format will weed out people like me who came to the site only to learn about new scientific developments and have their thoughts provoked by the extremely interesting comment threads.  I'm sure time will tell.  I know this is often said, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!

Without news, I'm outta here.  I'll stick to http://www.kurzweilai.net/index.html?flash=1 and some of the nanotech sites.

Just in case anyone is tracking this thread and not the main page, a news section is back.
