I'm talking about neuroscience forums.  I'm wondering if there are any real communities on the web that discuss neuroscience in detail and are really hyped up about it.

There's a great forum centered around the book, "On Intelligence" by Jeff Hawkins, which defines a new way of looking at brain processing.

The book is strongly recommended (on the back cover) by one of the world's foremost neuroscientists, who heads up a huge neuroscience study program at Columbia University in New York.

Hawkins virtually invented and pioneered the Palm Pilot, and has now established a neuroscience institute to pursue investigations of his ideas on how the brain works.

Let's see if I can link to the forum, from here:

Yes!  Here's something I posted on it a few hours ago (linked from the signature block, below):

I am open to creating a neuroscience subforum in the Science forum on this site. But I'm not sure there are enough interested people here right now who would make that worthwhile. Thoughts?

    Hi there,

I just joined the BetterHumans forum in search for a forum, kind of representing this discription:

A place to philosophize and discuss on subjects concerning the future in neuroscience applications. Artificial Intelligence, Brain Computer Interfacing, Neuroengeneering, Humanoid Robots in relation to topics as psychology, phychiatry and behavior based on scientific and/or academic literature.

I myself am a University Student in Antwerp, Belgium studying Biomedical Sciences specializing in neuroscience.

I don't know wheter there are enough members interested in this matter, but it would be really nice if a quality (sub)forum would develop itself over the course of time. I already started a little forum that might be a start for future fora @ http://groups.google.be/group/neurosciencefuture?hl=nl

People who are interested, start posting!
