Hi everyone,
I am always on the lookout for good blogs to read. Since I figure my interests are similar to those of many on these forums, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread discussing some good blogs related to transhumanism. Please list and describe any blogs covering technology, politics, economics, science, or culture in a way that relates to transhumanist thought (even obliquely). You might want to leave out Betterhumans blogs, not because they're not good, but just because people on these forums probably see them, and I'm thinking of blogs that have been online for longer. I’ve posted a list of my own favorite blogs below. I hope you like them.
Later, Genvocate
1) FuturePundit (http://www.futurepundit.com)
FuturePundit is my favorite blog. Randall Parker keeps up-to-date with the latest scientific and technological developments, and writes insightfully on how these findings will impact humankind’s future opportunities and challenges. I find that reading his blog is a much better way of discovering and understanding new technology and science than simply reading science news links. Definitely check this one out.
2) Neurosociety (http://www.neurosociety.com)
This blog isn’t updated that frequently, but Zack Lynch does a good job of covering developments that will enable humans in the future to understand, protect, and modify their minds to enhance their lives.
3) NuSapiens (http://blogspot.nusapiens.com)
It’s hard to characterize the scope of this blog, but it seems to me like sort of a combination of Gene Expression and FuturePundit, but with a more explicit transhumanist bent than either. It’s a fairly new blog, so I’m not sure how good it is, but it is worth checking out.
4) Marginal Revolution (http://www.marginalrevolution.com)
An insightful economics blog written by two economics professors.
5) Gene Expression (http://www.gnxp.com)
A blog covering developments in genetics and population genetics. Gene Expression is somewhat controversial, because one of the main topics of discussion is how race is biologically meaningful in some sense, but this idea is far from the only subject it discusses.
6) Corey Nahman (http://www.coreynahman.com)
This website is not a blog, but it is the best source of pharmaceutical industry news that I’ve found. It seems like a pretty good way to monitor the development of new drugs.
7) Tech Central Station(http://www.techcentralstation.com)
This website is also not a blog, but a sort of news magazine site updated regularly with good articles discussing economic and technological trends from a pro-technology viewpoint.
