    Pragmatica,

    That is great to hear that your grandmother on your father's side made it to 102.
    She must have done something right. Good for her. My mother-in-law is at 91.5, but we are having a hard time with her, as she has Alzheimers (probably in her 5-6th year now). I guess the issue is really the quality of life that one has, when they reach a certain age. There is a lot of research going on now, targeting diseases like dementia and Alzheimers plus many more. I guess what really scares me, are debilitating ones like the ones mentioned above. It is a real juggling act, balancing what things to do, eat, and exercise etc. It is also another problem sorting out just what foods to eat, which supplements to take....and in which quantities, only to discover a few months down the road that research studies contradict the positive affects that these had previous to the study!

    I would like to know if any other members of the betterhumans family are experiencing the same feelings as I do, with respect to seeing a loved one or a friend have a nasty disease and how they cope with their emotions.
