Through my twenties I moved around quite a bit and had several jobs. Consequently, it hasn't been until recently that I've started to seriously start thinking about my financial future. I'm at the point now where I am debt-free and can put a modest sum away every month into investments for the future.
There is a lot of good information out there about basic financial planning and investment, but all of it assumes that the world thirty years from now is going to look more or less the same as it does today (except with flying cars and smaller telephones.) If we can agree that the one thing that's definite is that things will be changing faster and faster over time, how do you go about planning a reasonable investment strategy?
How many Betterhumans members have investment or financial plans for the future? Are they fairly conventional? How does your vision of the future and the changes we're all likely to experience affect your financial choices? Are you more aggressive with your plans? More conservative? Any thoughts or advice?
