The Longevity Meme Folding@Home team has crossed into the top 100 for the first time ever. There is a celebratory thread going on over at Imminst. (full F@H forum of threads)

From its humble beginnings, I don't think anyone would have expected we could have come so far. (and done it so fast; especially in the last several months when we have really been gaining steam)

Google TechTalks Related to Life Extension and AI

There have been a couple of Google TechTalks recently (with more to come evidently) that took on extreme life extension and Artificial General Intelligence.

One was administered by Aubrey de Grey, PhD entitled "Prospects for extending healthy life - a lot"

The other was administered by Dr. Ben Goertzel entitled "Artificial General Intelligence: Now Is the Time"
(the first couple of minutes are cut off of this one)

There are evidently more people invited in the near future related to improving the human condition. If you are unfamiliar with Google TechTalks in general, there are a whole lot of them that you can browse through on a wide variety of different tech and science related issues.

Another Immortality Institute Voice Chat/Podcast Tonight

After the successful test run of the first Immortality Institute Voice Chat, there is another scheduled for this evening at 8pm (20:00) EST. Here is the time at various parts of the world at that time.

This one will be in anticipation of a lecture to be presented at the end of the month via voice chat by one of the researchers who is a Director at the Institute.
